In celebration of the World Water Day (March 22) and the Philippine Water Week (March 21-25), the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-Cordillera Administrative Region (MGB-CAR) joined the World Water Day Caravan of the Environmental Management Bureau-Cordillera Administrative Region (EMB-CAR) held on March 10, 15 & 22, 2022 in Bontoc, Mt. Province, Bangued, Abra and Tinglayan, Kalinga, respectively. Said caravan’s theme was “Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible” which aimed to emphasize the importance of groundwater among its participants composed of the youth and local government unit representatives.

MGB-CAR senior geologist Mr. Kelvin Carlo Gaerlan (Bontoc) led his team composed of Mr. Jelson Fitzgerald Edduba (Bontoc), Ms. Grail Baldas (Bangued) and Ms. Jestee Ruth Donaal (Tinglayan), in discussing the importance of groundwater by showing its relationship to rocks.  Participants were greatly encouraged to care for the environment thereby protecting our groundwater resources.
