Geologists of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-Cordillera Administrative Region (MGB-CAR) led by Benigno Cesar L. Espejo, chief of the Geosciences Division, actively participated in the Virtual MGB Geoscience Workshop hosted by the MGB Central Office – Lands Geological Survey Division on February 7 - 11, 2022.

The workshop became the venue for the discussion and presentation of the overall accomplishments, updates, plans and project proposals involving the Geoscience programs of the bureau.  Systematic deliberations revolved around the National Geologic Quadrangle Mapping Program, the National Mineral Reservation Program, the National Groundwater Resource and Vulnerability Assessment Program, and the National Geohazard Assessment and Mapping Program.

The 5 day activity conclusively focused on standardization of implementation methodologies of the different programs of the Geosciences Division. Moreover, issues and concerns raised by regional offices were thoroughly addressed and resolved.

The workshop gave the participants the capacity building mindset bent on improving their skills and knowledge to give the general public quality service.
