A monitoring activity was conducted by the embedded personnel of Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB-CAR), Mountain Province on the Permanent Environment  Protection Order (PEPO) issued by the court within the jurisdiction of Barangays Mainit and Maligcong of Bontoc, Mountain Province on March 9-10, 2021.

It was confirmed during the monitoring that adits and small-scale mining portals have been abandoned evidenced by wildlings covering the area.   Moreover, small-scale miners’ camps located near the area have been converted as rice grain storage or shed by locals attending their nearby rice paddies.continue reading:PEPO in Bontoc monitored
