PPEs (face masks, disposable and reusable raincoats, shoe covers) and other medical supplies (alcohol and vitamin C) were donated to a hospital in Mankayan, Benguet.
Front liners receive donations from Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company in response to the crisis brought by the corona virus and to support the government’s measure to contain the disease.
Lepanto has been providing food packs (snacks and lunch) to over 60 frontliners manning designated checkpoints within the municipality of Mankayan, while observing recommended social distancing. Included in the frontliners are 34 Lepanto employees who are also army reservists volunteering to augment the enhanced community quarantine designated checkpoints within the mine camp.
Lepanto weavers were tapped to mass produce 3-ply face masks for the mining community.
More than a thousand masks have been produced and are being distributed.
